Ms. Lippett is the founder of B. F. Lippett Professional Corporation. Ms. Lippett’s clients rely on her in-depth knowledge of the financial, technology, communications, healthcare, and government industries gained from over 29 years of legal, business, and government experience. Ms. Lippett has worked in both the public and private sectors. She has spent the last 18 years advising clients and taking leadership roles on hundreds of corporate and commercial transactions. Ms. Lippett’s extensive legal, business, government, and industry knowledge combined with her strong negotiation and client-relationship skills bring true value to her client engagements. She is committed to building a practice based on long-term strategic relationships with her clients.

Prior to launching her practice in January 2007, Ms. Lippett practiced with three leading international law firms exclusively in the areas of corporate and commercial law. During that time, Ms. Lippett worked directly with senior executives, company founders, and stakeholders of technology and knowledge-based companies, sharing in their passion, desire, and drive to develop, commercialize, and distribute their products and services globally. During these engagements, Ms. Lippett provided creative solutions and closed deals quickly, while carefully managing risk and protecting corporate technology and intellectual property assets. Ms. Lippett launched her legal career on one of the largest Canadian federal government divestitures in terms of assets transferred and value of the transaction, namely the transfer of Canada’s civil air navigation system to a private, not-for-profit corporation, NAV CANADA, for payment of $1.5 billion.

Before law, Ms. Lippett earned valuable, pragmatic, hands on business experience as a management consultant with two leading global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing companies. Her solid understanding of the public sector and government procurement are based on years as a senior policy and business analyst with various departments within the federal and regional governments.

Ms. Lippett currently sits on the Board of Directors of the West Ottawa Board of Trade and the Economic and Business Development Standing Committee, and on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Ottawa Business Journal. Ms. Lippett also served as the Vice-Chair of the City of Ottawa’s Business Advisory Committee, advising City Council and staff on policies, programs, and by-laws that affected small and medium sized businesses and the overall economic development climate of the City of Ottawa.

Ms. Lippett was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996. She received her LL.B. from Western University, her M.A. (Public Administration) from Carleton University (Ottawa), and her B.A. (Honours) from Carleton University (Ottawa). She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association.
